Using photos of oft-snapped subjects (like Notre Dame) scraped from around the Web, Photosynth (based on Seadragon technology) creates breathtaking multidimensional spaces with zoom and navigation features that outstrip all expectation.
The video is from march 2007 but i've seen it for the first time these days. What should i say? Very, very impressive.
The Volta Tech Preview has arrived. Volta is the knife and glue to split your .NET applications into several tiers and let them work seamlessly together afterwards.
That's what Microsoft states about Volta:
The Volta technology preview is a developer toolset that enables you to build multi-tier web applications by applying familiar techniques and patterns. First, design and build your application as a .NET client application, then assign the portions of the application to run on the server and the client tiers late in the development process. The compiler creates cross-browser JavaScript for the client tier, web services for the server tier, and communication, serialization, synchronization, security, and other boilerplate code to tie the tiers together.
 David Delay has built a really cool demo that brings Surface-like photo handling capabilities to your browser. It’s fun to play around with it and if you would like to have a good code sample for Silverlight, you can get the source code too.

Nachdem Microsoft mit seinem Surface Computer in den letzten Tagen ja so richtig Furore gemacht hat, hier nochmal die Zusammenfassung von ein paar Quellen, die uneingeschränkt geeignet sind, um sich von der absoluten coolness dieses Gerätes zu überzeugen.
First of all das Video, das wohl als erstes seine Kreise zog. In gut 4 Minuten gibt es einen Überblick über die Features und einen kleinen Einblick in die Technik.
Auf Microsofts Surface- Homepage gibt es ein paar Videos mit je 1-2 Minuten Länge, die hauptsächlich den Einsatz im Consumer Bereich zeigen. Das Gerät soll ab Ende des Jahres zunächst für “Commercial Partners” verfügbar sein. Ein paar Anwendungen dieser Partner (z.B. T-Mobile oder Sheraton) werden in den Videos kur gezeigt.
Last but not least gibt es bei on10.net ein knapp 20-minütiges Video, das nach einer kurzen Einführung in die grundlegenden Features die Anwendungen der ersten “Commercial Partners” der Reihe nach kurz vorstellt. Ein sehr sachliches Video ohne Trara und Marketing- Fanfaren.
